Public Service Announcement: The Fremont County Solid Waste Disposal District will be developing additional landfill space at their Dubois landfill between June 15, 2025, and September 30, 2025. During this period of time, the free yard waste program will be closed due to limited site space. What does this mean? All yard waste, manure, branches, and other wood waste will not be accepted for free. These waste steams can still be disposed of at the landfill; however, customers will be directed to weigh their loads and pay for disposal at the standard $80 per ton disposal fee. New Position Opening: Operations Manager of Solid Waste
The Fremont County Solid Waste Disposal District (District) is now accepting applications for the Operations Manager of Solid Waste in Lander, Wyoming.
This position includes supervisory and administrative work, including but not limited to, planning, scheduling, evaluating, and supervising the District operations relating to; landfills, transfer stations, recycling and waste diversion, and clean-up events. Duties are varied and require knowledge of the functions and equipment common to landfilling, waste transportation, and recycling/waste diversion management. Knowledge is also required of all federal, state, and local laws concerning the handling and disposal of all types of waste. Work is a mixture of office and field work.
The position’s starting salary range is $67,000-$72,000, based upon qualifications. The District also provides a very comprehensive benefit package.
