State DEQ seeking improved relations with Solid Waste District
Fees Based on Amount of Trash
Click here to see the fee schedule. To allow people a great opportunity to reduce the amount of trash thrown away, the District offers Free Recycling Zones before the scales at Lander, Riverton and Dubois. By recycling first, people should have less trash to dispose of and pay for as they cross the scales.
New Sorting Guidelines for Recycling Paper
Residents are now able to mix all their paper together for recycling. This means you can have one bin for mixed paper including newspaper, magazines, junk mail, and envelopes all mixed together. And even better, you can now include non-waxy paperboard in that same recycle bin. Paperboard is the thin paper that looks like cardboard, but doesn’t have the wavy layer in the middle. Sometimes you have garbage and sometimes you might have items that can be recycled. It's not always intuitive or easy to know the difference! Garbage is simply solid waste that cannot be recycled. But have you ever bought a new appliance and wondered how to get rid of your old one? Found stacks of old magazines you want to recycle? Upgraded your computer and ended up with a mountain of old electronic equipment? Cleaned out your garage and wondered what to do with those old paint cans?
Every day, Fremont County residents and businesses run across unwanted items that make them wonder: "What do I do with this?"
Use the quick drop down menu to find all the information you need to properly get rid of garbage and recyclables here in Fremont County.
